One of the things artists have to think about when recording music is they can do this in the studio, but can they also do this live in concert. Maren Morris knows the feeling. While she's been making music on her own for years, she released her first album, Hero, last month. Through the process of making the music for it, she thought about those earlier lesson of making sure she can take the song from studio to stage. Maren made sure the songs from Hero, including her single "80s Mercedes," were ready to rock the crowds while she's opening for Keith Urban on his ripCORD world tour.
There's just over a month left on the Spread The Love tour, and Kenny Chesney might be making some plans for his upcoming time off. Perhaps Kenny will head where there's some big waves so he can continue to practice a skill he picked up last summer on his break between tours-surfing! Kenny learned how to hang ten. While he's not ready to hit the surfing competition circuit yet, he does admit that getting up on a surf board "is the most exhilarating thing the most liberating thing in the world."
Congrats to Carrie Underwood who scored the 24th #1 single of her career with "Church Bells," which is also the third consecutive chart-topping single from her current album, Storyteller!
Jake Owen's new album American Love is available now! Jake worked on this album in Nashville, but he also recorded music while he was out on the road performing. Jake also took a different look at the background singers on this album, , this time around background singers with unique voices can really make a song sound different. Chris Stapleton, Stephanie Chapman, and Hillary Lindsey all contributed to songs that gave each one it's own unique feel. In the end, Jake just wanted to make an album that was really proud of, and American Love accomplished that. Listen for tracks from the album - out this month.
Kenny Chesney has just released a brand new song, "Setting The World On Fire," which is the second single from his upcoming album Cosmic Hallelujah. Kenny's turning things up a notch too, as he's joined on his new song by award-winning superstar singer Pink!
While Lady Antebellum member Hillary Scott and her family were grieving the loss of her grandfather to cancer, Scott's father, Lang Scott, was looking for a way to reach out to those who responded on his CaringBridge website, and suggested making a CD to share with others. It was an easy task, since Hillary Scott's family also includes her mother, Linda Davis, and her younger sister, Rylee, a talented singer, but from that simple initial idea came something so much bigger: a 13-track faith-based album, Love Remains, by Hillary Scott & the Scott Family and produced by Ricky Skaggs.
Have a great week!
